Ignore stupid filenames, they're because of laziness :)

MOD-Player for the Sega Genesis? 's been done!

So, you thought that the Sega Genesis with its "poor" FM Synth chip and that one lousy PCM channel can't do MOD playback?

It pretty damn well can! The development team of the game "Toy Story" have proven that this is an achievable task. The Title screen of the game, as found out by Nineko, utilizes MOD files. What's a MOD, you might ask? Well, go look it up on google ;).

Nineko and I proceeded to investigate, while Nineko did the major work, and wrote an injector for the NTSC version. However, this was a sub-optimal solution since the NTSC version plays songs 5/6th faster! This is due to the 50/60Hz differences. The PAL Version plays them at the correct speed, which is why I modified Nineko's program to inject into the PAL version of the game.

The MOD that you're injecting has to be exactly or smaller than 93996 bytes, and for this utility to work, rename your ROM to "toy.bin" and put it into the program's directory.
